Connecting With VB311

​Calling "311" will work from landline telephones within Virginia Beach city limits. Cell phone users, or callers from outside the city limits can dial (757) 385-3111 to reach VB3​11 Citizen Services. 

There is no charge to callers for dialing "311" (applicable long distance or cellular charges may apply when dialing (757) 385-3111.


The VB311 Citizen Services Assistant helps to reduce non-emergency call volume in the VB911 Emergency Communications Center by taking calls not requiring Public Safety personnel, and issues automated safety alerts customized to reach specific communities as needed.

VB311 Citizen Services Assistants also assist other city departments with calls for such services as critical maintenance issues on City Property, hazardous street debris, and citizen water or sewage leaks.

VB311 also provides Virginia Beach residents and visitors with a single point of contact for a wide variety of city information and services, including directions to locations within the city limits, information on City procedures and events; and explanations of parking & other regulations for the Resort Area.
